MDC is an honest jeweler with great service
I recently purchased a .86 carat three stone diamond ring from MDC for my wife for Christmas.
I was nervous about buying such an expensive item sight-unseen, but I did a ridiculous amount of research (20+hours at least), both online and brick and mortar stores, and MDC was the place I ended up purchasing from.
I really appreciated his honesty about the quality of the cut of the gem being important. Most other sites wouldn't list their cut grade, they just want to throw the color/clarity/carat weight at you and get you to pay more for a stone because it's bigger, not because it's going to sparkle and shine as if by magic like a master cut gemstone should.
After receiving the ring (which was delivered very securely) I was very impressed. With bright light on it, it was dazzling. The "signature ideal cut" is the real deal, and totally worth it.
The only minor complaint I would have is that the auction listed the center stone of the ring as a radiant brilliant cut, and it actually turned out to be princess cut. I'm not sure what the mix-up was, or if I was reading the auction wrong, but it actually worked out for me because princess is one of my wifes favorite cuts, and when she finally saw the ring, it took her breath away.
Dealing with MDC was a pleasure, and I would definitely do business with them again.
