If you're interested in a piece of jewelry that is currently on back order, call us and we can tell you when the item will be back in stock. Sometimes with the volume of orders we receive, an item can go out of stock before we're able to post notification to the site. If this happens, we will notify you personally so we can help you find another item.
Infrequently, data may be inaccurately displayed on our site due to system errors. While we make every attempt to avoid these errors, they may occur. We reserve the right to correct any and all errors when they do occur and we do not honor inaccurate or erroneous prices. Our prices are also subject to change without notice. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact one of our diamond and jewelry consultants at service@mdcdiamonds.com or 1-866-239-4315, from the UK 0800-520-0448.
We want to help you find the perfect diamond. If you do not find it in our diamond inventory, use our Special Order form to request the exact diamond you want, or call and speak to a diamond and jewelry consultant at 1-866-239-4315.
If you prefer, you can view your diamond before it's set. You can visit our New York City show room by appointment, or once you purchase and receive your MDC diamond, send it back to us and we will build a ring for you. We'll pay the shipping charges for delivery of your diamond, and your finished ring. View our Return Instructions.
If your MDC Diamonds ring does not fit, we will resize it free of charge within 60 days of its original shipment. Resizing will take approximately 4-7 business days.
For your convenience, we offer the following payment methods:
-
Credit cards: Use your American Express, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover card. You can also pay via paypal, or Google Checkout.
-
Bank wire: Arrange payment through your bank and receive a 1.75% discount. Bank wire payments are accepted on orders of $700 or more.
-
Check: you can send us a bank cashier's check. we will ship your order 10 days after we receive the check.
A debit card is treated differently than a credit card by your bank. A debit card is much like a credit card in that it may display a credit card company logo, like Visa or MasterCard, but a charge to your debit card uses funds directly from your bank account. The biggest difference is that your bank may institute a daily charge limit on your debit card. If the price of your order exceeds a daily limit set on your debit card we will notify you, as this will prohibit us from processing your order.
As an alternative, you can:
-
Continue your order via wire transfer and receive a 1.75% discount. A wire transfer is a simple process of contacting your bank to have funds moved from your bank to ours and is available for orders of $700 or more. It works on the same principle as your debit card, but requires some direct communication with your bank to allow for a larger transaction. We'll send you the easy instructions. It may require a few days for your bank to transfer your funds.
-
Continue your order using a credit card. If you order before noon, your order will begin processing today.
-
Contact your bank and request a one-time waiver of the daily charge limit.
We fully insure each order all the way to you. That means that when your order is in transit to you, shipment is always risk-free. For added security, it is our policy that a signature is required for all MDC Diamonds orders over $500.
If you prefer, we can ship your order to an address other than your billing address. As a security precaution, we require that your alternate shipping address be on file with your credit card company. This step helps protect you from fraudulent charges to your credit card.
We will ship orders under $10,000 to APO and FPO addresses via USPS priority mail. Internationally, we can deliver loose diamonds and jewelry to the UK, and we can deliver loose diamonds, and a selection of our diamond jewelry to Canada. Read our policies on Orders Shipped to Canada, and visit our MDC Diamonds UK Web site.
If you cannot be available to receive your order on a weekday, we may be able to arrange for your order to be delivered on Saturday. Saturday Service, available in the vast majority of US cities, is subject to availability. If Saturday Service is unavailable in your area, we can arrange for you to pick up your package at the FedEx World Service Center nearest you or UPS service center nearest you. If you're interested in these services, call 1-866-239-4315 to speak to a diamond and jewelry consultant.
When you order a loose diamond, we ship it to you with the accompanying diamond grading report (also called a diamond certificate). These grading reports are lengthy, detailed documents created by diamond grading experts at one of the highly-respected diamond laboratories — making it very expensive to replace a diamond grading report. Because of this, we require each diamond grading report to be included with each returned diamond.
If you do not include both the diamond grading report and appraisal with your return, you will be charged a replacement fee.
Many of our diamonds, are laser inscribed with the grading report number on the girdle. If you find a diamond you'd like to purchase but it does not have a laser inscription, we can have it inscribed for you for a fee of $60.
Currently, sales tax is only collected on orders shipped to addresses in New York State.
To ensure your recipient will like your holiday gifts, we offer a very flexible return policy. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your order and it is still in new condition, you can return it for an exchange or refund within 14 days of the receipt of your diamond or jewelry. Read the details of our Returns Policy.
To keep our prices low, we do not allow comparison purchasing. Comparison purchasing is the act of buying several items with the intent of keeping the one you like best and returning the remainder. This causes undue restocking and inventory overhead and can be very costly. To confirm the quality of a jewelry item, please call one of our expert Diamond & Jewelry Consultants at 1866-239-2728 and we would be happy to help you make your choice.
At MDC Diamonds, we make every attempt to ensure that our online catalog is as accurate and complete as possible. In order to give you the opportunity to view our products in great detail, some products may appear larger or smaller than their actual size in our photographs; and since every computer monitor is set differently, color and size may vary slightly.
Our objective is to provide you with as much information and detail about your prospective purchase as possible so that you can see the beauty and shape of a particular item. In compliance with industry standards and FTC regulations, MDC Diamonds states that carat total weight in all purchases may vary 0.05 carats from stated weight.
For any convex or rounded jewelry item, the width and length stated in the product description is taken by the manufacturer, prior to the rounding of the metal in the manufacturing process, which may lead to a discrepancy in any measurements taken after this process.
Also, for each item containing multiple diamonds, we list the average grade and measurement for color, clarity, and carat weight. These averages are calculated by adding all grades or measurements that comprise the inventory with regard to that particular piece of merchandise, and determining the closest average.
MDC Diamonds is committed to offering high-quality diamonds, sourced from the world's largest and best suppliers. As responsible citizens and jewelry merchants, we share the public concern regarding conflict diamonds. At MDC Diamonds, we only purchase our diamonds through respected, well-established, legal channels.
In April 2003, President Bush passed a bill adopting the Kimberley Process that requires all US diamond retailers to buy diamonds from manufacturers who have documentation warranting that the merchandise was obtained through legitimate channels. Today, the US Customs Service is actively enforcing the Kimberley Process requirements as diamonds enter American ports.
MDC Diamonds supports the Kimberley Process. Each diamond cutter we work with obtains diamonds exclusively from legitimate sources, and they comply completely with the Kimberley Process requirements. At MDC Diamonds we will continue to support and promote any process that works to uphold legitimacy in the diamond trade.
Under no circumstances shall MDC Diamonds be liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages of any kind, regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict product liability or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact one of our diamond and jewelry consultants at service@mdcdiamonds.com or 1-866-239-4315.
Note: These policies apply to orders shipped within the US. To review our Canadian or UK policies and legal notices, please visit mdc diamonds Canada at www.mdcdiamonds.ca, or MDC Diamonds UK at www.mdcdiamonds.co.uk.
